Hello and welcome to Wendell Middle School! We made it through our first day with very few hiccups, yay! There are a few things that we need from you this week, but don't worry- the homework is easy! First, please make sure you fill out all of the papers in the folder that was given out today. Next, please make sure to review the syllabus that was given out today along with the Science Safety permission form. If your child does not have the safety contract signed by you, they cannot do ANY labs in science this year and will have to complete an alternate assignment. I have attached a copy of the syllabus and safety sheet below in case you misplace yours. I have asked that all of these (folder, syllabus, safety contract) are complete and returned by this Friday.
If you can, please try to have all materials by next week as well. Your child will need pencils/pens, a binder, dividers, paper, a folder, and a white T-shirt (buy one size up!) for my class. I do not mind if these materials are shared with other classes. The following items, though, need to be bought for my class only, as we will put them in a labeled bag and keep them in the science room: glue sticks, child safety scissors (with rounded edges), highlighters, ear buds, and colored pencils or crayons. We know some people may not be able to get all of these items, so if you can donate extras to help support our classroom it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
**We will also have tutoring this year! Before attending, you must get in contact with the teacher whose session your child will be attending. You can either fill out one of our permission forms, email, or call the teacher in advance. If you are requesting to attend via e-mail or permission form, it must be done at least 24 hours in advance. Thanks!**
For some of our projects this year, I will be asking for parent volunteers. If you already know that you would like to volunteer in the future, please contact me. Otherwise, the need for parent volunteers will be included in the weekly update. Thank you! :)
