This week we are starting our final unit about space. Celebrate! We are working on our vocabulary list in our notebooks today and tomorrow using the iPads and Discovery Education. Just like in the previous units, students are making a three column chart in their notebooks for their words. The first column is simply the word, in the second column they either draw a picture or give an example, and in the last column they write the definition in their own words. The list from CMAPP is below, but we will be adding some words to this list as we go.
We will have a vocabulary quiz at the end of this week! Vocabulary: season, solstice, equinox, waning (moon), waxing (moon), tides, solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, umbra, penumbra, axis of rotation, rotation, revolution, spin off, probe, space shuttle, rocket, Apollo, satellite, space station, lander, flyby, orbiter, Hubble, Kepler, atmosphere, CO2 cycle, gravity, greenhouse effect
