Hope everyone enjoyed their break! We have started off our week with a review of the electromagnetic spectrum and how we see. TOMORROW we will be doing the sheep eye dissection! We have taken notes on a few different videos this week, and even had Mrs. Dextre as a teacher Monday to lead us through a lab about the similarities between cameras and the human eye. When I was out yesterday, students worked on the "Human Eye" article below, and it was to be completed for homework if not finished during class time and is DUE TOMORROW. They need to annotate the text and use it to answer the comprehension questions. The crossword is not part of the grade- it was just for extra vocabulary practice if they finished early. Reminder for the LAB tomorrow: Students need to come dressed appropriately. This means they MUST have on long pants, short sleeves (or long sleeves that can be pushed up), NO jewelry on the wrists or fingers and NO long necklaces or lanyards, and closed-toe shoes. Also, if your child has long hair it MUST be tied back. We will also use aprons and goggles for this lab which must be worn at all times. It might be a good idea to wear old clothes tomorrow, just in case. If your child is not dressed appropriately OR breaks any of the lab safety rules even one time, they will be sent to another classroom with an alternate assignment to complete, as this is a MAJOR grade. Coming up next week: - Structure & Function of the eye QUIZ Tuesday - Waves objective 1 & 2 TEST Friday **A study guide for the test will be given out next week, but in the meantime please review resources below as well as any video/class notes in your child's notebook. The Bill Nye video we watched was called "Light and Color" and the BrainPop video we watched is simply called "Eyes."
