Unfortunately there are some issues with our online grade book right now and I have been having trouble updating grades. As soon as the system is corrected, grades will be updated. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
On a much happier note, I just wanted to say thank you to all of my students and supporting families. Today we were talking about what we are thankful for, and I am thankful for each and every one of our kiddos. I love them all and I am glad to have them in my class. I hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving break! See you on Monday! :)

Once you have finished with your Tic Tac Toe, I want you to go to the website below and watch the short video about NASA's satellite imaging of photosynthesis. Then, look at each of the pictures below and use them to answer the following questions: 1. Which parts of North America do you think would have the most diverse ecosystem? (North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, or Northwest?) Why? 2. Why do you think some areas show little evidence of photosynthesis? 3. If the eastern United States faced a terrible drought for months on end, how do you think it would affect humans all over the country? 4. If Carbon Dioxide production and pollution continues to rise, where do you think the healthiest place to move would be? Why? This week, we finished up our photosynthesis stories (pictures to come soon!) and today we will be starting on our next objective about food webs and the energy pyramid. Today we will be taking notes on both the website and Powerpoint below. If your child was absent, or if you'd like a review, please check out the resources! I have also attached a guided notes sheet to make it easier for you and your child to understand what we talked about in case of an absences. Other news... The second Tic Tac Toe project is due NEXT FRIDAY. Please encourage your child to complete one of the projects rather than to take the test. The success rate for the projects is much higher than for the quiz/test! We will be having a talent show for our students on the Early Release on December 18th from 10:00 am-11:15 am. Please come out to support our children, and encourage your child to try out! We will be sending out invitations closer to Thanksgiving break. :)
First of all, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to those of you that came out for our student-led conferences last night. We had a great turn out and I really enjoyed the conversations that we had with our children! Some awesome goals were set last night! If you weren't able to come out, your child will bring their report card home this evening. Please make sure to sign the envelope and return it ASAP. If you'd like a conference, please check the "conference" box beside your signature and include your phone number or e-mail so that we can contact you to get it set up. :) Part 1 of 3 of the Tic Tac Toe assessment is due TOMORROW! It was assigned a little over two weeks ago and your child should have discussed it with you, for it required your signature. If they do not have a project to turn in tomorrow, they will take the quiz instead--no exceptions! A completed study guide is worth 10% of the quiz grade. The study guide was given out on Monday to those who had planned on taking the quiz all along. If you are not sure what this project is, or if you have any questions/concerns, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me! This week, we have started discussing the processes that occur inside of plants, specifically photosynthesis and cellular respiration. You should see a few pages of notes in your child's notebook that we finished taking yesterday. If you have not seen them, or if your child was absent and needs to catch up, the PowerPoint is attached below.
Many students did not use their time wisely in class today and thus did not complete the assignment. This needs to be completed for HW tonight and will be checked tomorrow for a grade. Students are supposed to: 1) Annotate the article (circle important vocabulary, underline important sentences, and write comments/questions in the margins) 2) Answer the questions on the back of the assignment
